April 14: Developing your Spirit Nature

Matthew 4:4

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Psalms 23:1

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

The Scripture above reveals the importance of developing our spirit nature in Christ. It says man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God, which means that man’s life is not based on bread alone, the natural, so to speak; but on the Word of God, the spiritual. Developing our spirit nature is therefore the way to live indeed. When you got born again, you received a new nature or life which is sustained by the Word of God. The nature on the inside of you feeds on the revelation of God’s Word; your recreated human spirit thrives on the Word. Your spirit life or nature feeds on the Word for growth and sustenance. By developing the spirit nature within, you will be able to make the most of your life in Christ. You will be able to receive freely every blessing with which God has blessed you in Christ.

How do you develop the spirit nature within you? You meditate in the Word and act upon it. Feeding on the Word requires meditating upon it. You can’t get God’s Word into you without meditating in it. You get God’s Word running in you by meditating in it. Now that the Word is running in you through meditation, you then act out the Word by way of giving expression to it. When you act on the Word in your spirit, faith is developed in you, love is developed, strength is built into you, and your spirit life is edified or built up. Doing this requires quality time, devotion and consistency. It is not a one-off thing. We live by the Word; we live by faith. That’s our oxygen; that’s how we live. Beloved, as you meditate in the Word, it’s important you process it through prayer. When you meditate in the Word, pray it and live by it, you will experience giant strides in your walk with God. You become wise by God’s wisdom to be able to deal wisely in all the affairs of life. Divine intelligence is wired into your Spirit. Give heed to the Word, let it not depart from you; let it dwell in you richly. Live by the Word and your spirit nature will be developed to receive all the blessings of God for you in Christ.

My Solid Front (Confession):

I declare that I give myself to meditating on the Word of God continually. Therefore, my spirit is fed and developed. I grow in strength and in grace. I am filled with understanding and wisdom for witty inventions. I am not ignorant; I am knowledgeable. My capacity is enlarged and I get the Godkind of results in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
