April 17: You are Brand New in Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Romans 5:15

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

When God created man, He made us in His own image that we might exercise authority and rulership over the earth, the same way He does over the universe. But man by disobedience lost the scepter of authority to Satan. Man transmuted, and lost the ability, which was domiciled in the Godnature in him. Therefore, there is need for a recreation from the fallen nature to a new creation, which is after God in righteousness and true holiness. This was what Jesus came to accomplish through His substitutionary work at Calvary. Understand that the lost Godnature or life in man was the reason for the lost dominion over the earth. Dominion over the earth was only given to man, made in the image and likeness of God. New creation therefore is the restoration of man to the status of dominion.

You need to understand salvation in its entirety. The problem with man at the Fall was not just the transgression of the law of God. When man sinned, something died in him; there was a transmutation. Man was changed and the image, likeness and nature of God in him was distorted. Man became something else apart from who God made him to be. Man became like the devil; he took on the nature of the devil (John 8:44; 1 John 3:10). At this point, the devil became a father. Adam sold out in high treason to the devil, and man became the child of the devil together with his seed; for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Therefore, God had to do much more than forgive man. Man had to be born again to be a child of God by nature. This is the hub and thrust of our opening Scripture. It says “…if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Evidently, the man in Christ is not a forgiven sinner, no! He is not a panel-beated, face-lifted, worked-upon being. He is brand new, as in a new creation entirely. One born after God in life, nature, being and structure. You are a new creature in Christ; you are brand new!!! Hallelujah!!! Go ahead and celebrate your newness in Christ!!! It is something to shout about!!!

My Solid Front (Confession):

Thank You Father because the old is done away with, all things are become new. I am Your child now: I am born of You. I am a brand new biological reality. The realities of the old are gone. My realities are in the order of the new life I have in You. I am no longer desolate, I am in the family God. Therefore, light shines on my path and I express my new nature in Christ.
