August 1: The New Man in Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. ”

Colossians 1:12-13

“Always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. 13 For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, 14who purchased our freedom1:14 Some manuscripts add with his blood. and forgave our sins..”

Today’s opening Scripture tells us that if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. When anyone confesses Christ as Lord and believes that God has raised Him from the dead, they become born again. This means that the very moment a man steps into the domain called Christ by getting born again, he transforms into a new man. He doesn’t get refurbished or panel-beaten; he becomes a brand new man in every way and respect. He has a new nature, he’s transported to a new place, where he has brand new possibilities and realities. The man in Christ is the flawless image of God within his spirit and has the life and being of God to act, talk and live like Him. He is a new species of being, created after righteousness and true holiness. He is not a forgiven sinner, who still has the nature of sin. No, a million times, no! He is God’s bonafide child with God’s DNA running in him. He no longer belongs to the devil any more than Israel belonged to Pharaoh when they had been emancipated from Egypt’s dominion; He belongs to God completely, and has nothing of the devil in him. God is the Father of the man in Christ, and Jesus is his Lord. He has been catapulted from the kingdom and authority of darkness into the glorious liberty of God’s children. The man in Christ is of God. Therefore life ought to be different from henceforth; life should be new.

As a new man in Christ, the outcomes of your life ought to be different because you are in a new domain. That domain is called the Kingdom of God, Christ, the Church. Colossians 1:12-13 says “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power (authority) of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” You are no longer under the domain of darkness where Satan reigns; you are now in the Kingdom of God, where the Lordship of Jesus Christ alone bears upon you. Therefore you can expect new experiences consistent with the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It is high time you began walking in the newness of life. The old life of failure is gone! Start enjoying and experiencing the new.

My Solid Front (Confession): I am in Christ, therefore I declare according to God’s Word that I am a new creature. I declare that I am brand new, and I am in a brand new domain; therefore my experiences are brand new in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Further Meditation: 1 Peter 2:9; Ephesians 4:20-23.
