Choose the Fear of the Lord

August 6: The New Man is God’s Child

James 1:18

“Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”

1 Peter 1:23

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.”

1 Peter 1:23 “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.”

The new man in Christ is God’s child biologically. It is not a figurative statement or claim that we are God’s children in Christ. Galatians 3:26 tells us that we are the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Everyone who has reposed faith in Christ Jesus, confessing Him as Lord and believing that God has raised Him from the dead, is God’s child. God is his actual Father, and he is God’s actual biological child.

1 Peter 1:23 tells us that we are born again by the incorruptible seed of God’s Word. The same way the seed of our earthly father produced us, the incorruptible seed of the Word of God produced us in Christ. John 3:6 tells us “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” When we were born naturally, we were born from the seed of our earthly fathers. That kind of birth is fleshly.
When we were born again, we were born of the seed of our heavenly Father, which is the incorruptible Word of God that lives and abides forever. James 1:18 tells us that God gave birth to us by the Word of truth. We are offsprings of the Word of God. We are not converted sinners; we are actual biological children of God born of the Word of God. We are as much God’s spiritual children as we are our earthly parents’ fleshly children.
God’s DNA runs in us in Christ. We have God’s nature; we are His likeness. We are His children in Christ. The new man in Christ is God’s actual biological child. Therefore we ought to endear ourselves unto the Father through the Word and the power of the Spirit, by faith. Ephesians 5:1-2 tells us to be imitators of God as dear or beloved children, and walk in love as Christ also has loved us and has given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet savour.

We are no longer strangers and foreigners to God but fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of faith. Beloved, begin to imitate God as you walk in love, and fellowship with Him as you meditate in the Word. Hallelujah!

My Solid Front (Confession): I declare boldly that I am a child of God by faith in Jesus Christ. I am born again of the Word and the Spirit of God; therefore I am a bonafide child of God with full capacity to fellowship with God. Amen.

Further Meditation: John 1:12-13; Titus 3:4-6.
