January 11 – Built Up By the Word of His Grace

Acts 20:32

“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

2 Corinthians 3:18

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Our opening Scripture opens with a tremendous revelation that the Word of God’s grace is able to build us up in the Lord. This was the reason why the apostle Paul commended the Church to God and to the Word of His grace. He says it is able to build us up and give us an inheritance among the sanctified. In essence, the Word of God’s grace contains the building blocks of our spiritual life in Christ, and as we receive the ministry of the Word, we are built up as an edifice from one level of glory to a higher level of glory. You are to live by the Word, for man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. The man in Christ lives by the Word.

Again, the Word tells us that the just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17); and we understand that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17), which means we literally live by the Word. Our life in Christ is Word life, not flesh life; and can only be sustained by the living Word of God. Therefore as the believer feeds on the Word, he is built up by the same. He goes from glory to glory and from strength to strength. This is God’s way to reach Christian maturity in Christ.

Beloved, as you receive the Word of His grace daily into your spirit by meditation in and listening to the Word, every aspect of your life is built up: Marriage, ministry, career, family, finances, health, walk with God, academics, business, social life, etc. Be built up by the Word of God’s grace today.

My Solid Front (Confession): In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I am built up by the Word as I receive the Word of God’s grace daily, and I walk in the light of it in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Further Meditation: Jude 1:20; 1 Peter 2:1-3.
