” Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.”
8 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
The Parable of the Sower is an archive of kingdom secrets. There are numerous Kingdom lessons to learn from it. In fact, it is the basic parable that unlocks other parables Jesus told about the kingdom of God. In Mark 4:13, Jesus asked His disciples about the Parable of the Sower: “Know ye not this parable? And how then will ye know all parables?” Please, read the whole account of the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:18-23. These are the lessons from the Parable of the Sower: First, the seed is the Word of God (Luke 8:11). Every Kingdom experience, exploit, increase, etc. begins with the Word of God. The dominion of God is unleashed through the seed, the Word of God; for where the Word of a king is, there is power. Take heed to the Word of God. It is our Father’s good will to give us the kingdom, and how does He give it? He gives the Word! Beloved, begin to treasure the Word of God greatly. Second, the different soils are a reflection of the conditions of the heart. The heart of the matter is the matter of the heart. Don’t play down on the need to cultivate a very healthy environment within you. The seed stands no future in an unhealthy soil; the Word will not produce in an unsettled heart. The Jews by their traditions made the Word of God of no effect. Get rid of anxiety, offences, bitterness, and everything of such from your heart, so the Word may thrive in you.
Third, seek understanding in all you learn from the Word. Proverbs 4:7 tells that wisdom is the principal thing, and with all you get, get understanding. Whatever knowledge of God’s Word that you have, which you do not understand, cannot work for you. Understanding is a well spring of life to those who have it. Fourth, don’t give up when persecutions come because of the Word you have learnt. Remember, the trying of your faith works patience. Only let patience have her perfect work in you, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. Kingdom fruits are borne from Kingdom seeds through patience. It takes faith and patience to inherit the promises.
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I am wise in my dealings with the Word of God’s kingdom. I do not trifle with my opportunities to receive the Word and produce fruits by it. Amen.
