March 22: Money Management

Proverbs 21:20

“There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.”

Genesis 8:22.

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Money is a means to an end. Money is a tool with which to execute God’s purpose on earth. Money is basic value meant to be engaged to reap greater value. Money is a treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; it is some form of reflection and appreciation of worth, energy, labour, skills and services. God gives us money to advance His purpose for us on earth. Money is a defence; it defends from shame and worldly embarrassments. In many circles in the world today, if you don’t have money, you are despised. In the ministry of the Word, money is required to advance the Gospel. Preaching the Word of Christ without a flow of finances can be very frustrating. Money is required to meet family needs, pay bills, create natural comfort of life, help the poor, etc. Money is an established necessity in every human endeavour and in the society. Therefore, money is important, and money creation and management is much more.

God is not against His children having money; He only objects to money having us, which is covetousness and greed. Money forms the basis of value that ought to produce more value. Therefore, money ought not to be wasted but invested. Our opening Scripture tells us there is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spends it up. We are not meant to spend up our money; we are meant to save up for the days to come. We are meant to use money wisely by planning for what is required per time. This is known as budgeting. Don’t spend money without a budget! Be wise! Don’t let your money go where your mind isn’t going! Be wise! Don’t spend up everything you earn; save up! God’s eyes are on your money, and you’ll account for every dollar before Him. He is the God of reckoning! Mind your money! There is a lot you can do with it!

My Solid Front (Confession):

In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I am wise in the use of my money. I refuse to be wasteful; I save up for investments and divine opportunities that come my way. My God has blessed me that I might be accountable unto Him; therefore I am prudent in money matters. Amen.
