“That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ”
For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Our opening Scripture opens with a revelation of the fact that the communication of our faith can become effectual or efficacious. The communication of our faith speaks of the sharing, extension, fellowship of our faith; which deals with how effective we are in sharing our faith with others, and in the delivery of it to others. Our faith and the things that it communicates through us to others can become more effective. We can learn to become stronger to do more for the Lord through our faith. We can become stronger in faith by the day as we help people reach their God-given goals through our faith. How? It says the communication of our faith becomes effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in us in Christ. Top on the list of the good things that we have been given in Christ, is eternal life. Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ the Lord. The man in Christ, therefore, has eternal life. Again, in John 5:26, the Lord Jesus tells us, “For as the Father has life in himself, so has he given to the Son to have life in himself.” Then 1 John 5:11-12 tells us that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son; and whosoever has the Son has life, and he who doesn’t have the Son does not have life. Therefore, whosoever is in Christ has eternal life. What is eternal life? It is the divine life; it is life as God has it, in the principle and quality of it.
Acknowledging eternal life involves two things: First, confession of it in faith. Second, thanksgiving to God for this inestimable gift. When you declare with your mouth that you have eternal life, and that it is at work in you because you are God’s child, it is activated in you and it begins to work. Thanksgiving unto God reinforces the operations of the divine life in you. Both confession and thanksgiving are an acknowledgement of eternal life in you, which makes the communication of your faith in God effectual.
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I have eternal life in Christ and I am grateful to God for this inestimable treasure. I walk in the dynamics of eternal life, and I am blessed forever. Amen.
