The move of the Spirit

May 31: The Lord Is Your Shepherd

Psalms 23:1

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

John 16:13

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”

Today’s opening Scripture tells us that the Lord is our Shepherd; and so we shall not want. It is clear that the provisions of God for us are tied to His guidance. If you are not guided by God, you cannot enjoy His provisions. There is a wealthy place that the Lord has provided for you. It is a place flowing with milk and honey; it is a good land wherein is abundance and all good things. God made the good life for us. We are children born in due season to eat the good of the land.

Your life is not meant to be difficult and meandering. God made the best for you and He wants you to have it. God’s thoughts for you are thoughts of good, and not of evil; to give you an expected end – a hope and future (Jeremiah 29:11). You are to be looked up to, not to be looked down upon. You are a city set upon the hill that cannot be hidden. You are an eternal Excellency; the joy of many generations. That’s your destiny and portion in the land of the living; but it takes divine guidance to enter into the wealthy place that God has prepared for you, where you wash your feet in butter, and the rock pours you out rivers of oil.

God has given us His Spirit to guide us into all that He has prepared for us. Romans 8:14 tells us that the Spirit of the Lord is the Guide of God’s children, and verse 16 of Romans 8 tells us that the Spirit of God bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God; which means that the Spirit will guide us through our recreated human spirit, just as much as He bears witness with our spirit that we are God’s children. Don’t despise the witness of the Spirit with your spirit as touching any matter. Be sensitive to the nudge of the Spirit with your spirit. Many a times, God speaks through the inner witness and guides us out of trouble into prosperity. You must be sensitive to know when the signal of peace within you turns red or green. Don’t despise the peace indicator on the inside of you. The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly (Proverbs 20:27). God will guide you from inside out! Be sensitive to the promptings of the Spirit within you.

My Solid Front (Confession): Thank You heavenly Father, for Your ability and willingness to guide me. I declare that I believe in Your love; therefore I believe that You will guide me in the way that I should go in Jesus Name. I respond to the promptings of Your Spirit inside of me, in Jesus Name. Amen.
