May 4: Connecting with the Grace of God

Romans 10:9-10

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Acts 20:32

“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”

There is no deficiency of grace in Christ Jesus; people only don’t know how to connect to it. The revelation of the Word of God is our ability and technical know-how to be able to connect to the grace of God, or else there will be disconnect from grace. There is a well-defined, scriptural way to connect with the grace of God. For example, Romans 10:8-17 shows us how to connect with the salvation grace.

Beloved, just as there’s a way to connect to electricity in your neighbourhood, there’s a way to connect to the grace of God. You don’t just wish you had electricity in the house; you have to connect to it to have it flow. There is a way to connect your house to the flow of electricity from the grid. A sinner doesn’t get saved by crying all night. A sinner doesn’t get saved by hitting his head against the wall. There is the right way to get saved. It is by acting on Romans 10:9-10: Confessing Jesus as Lord and believing that God raised Him from the dead, and you are saved. The same goes for all the other graces in Christ. For example, the grace of prosperity answers to benevolence or liberality. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 tells us that every man ought to give as he purposes in his heart, either sparingly or bountifully; but he must give cheerfully, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. God’s response to this is that He makes all grace abound towards us that we always having all sufficiency may abound unto every good work.

If you don’t open up to the light of God’s Word, it becomes difficult for God to get grace across to you, or cause it to abound towards you. Some good degree of Word intelligence is required to have grace abound towards you.

My Solid Front (Confession): Thank You Heavenly Father, for the abundance of grace in Christ Jesus; I declare that as I act on the specific knowledge of God’s Word, I walk in the overflow of grace. Amen.

Further Meditation: 2 Corinthians 9:1-10; 2 Corinthians 8:1-9.
