“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he; Eat and drink, he says to you, but his heart is not with you.
The mind is central to man’s personality; it is the interphase between the spiritual and the carnal. The mind is also central to the transformation of man. Our opening verse tells us not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. Evidently, we are transformed by the renewing of the mind. We get to move from one phase of being to another by the renewing of the mind. 2 Corinthians 3:18 tells us that our change from glory to glory comes as we behold the glory of God in the mirror of the Word through the eyes of our mind. The eyes of our understanding, when enlightened by the Word, makes for tremendous transformation. Therefore, the transformation or conformation of people strictly depends on what they are meditating upon. Your thoughts are an expression of the change happening within you. You cannot be different from your thoughts, for as a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). Beloved, you have the responsibility to mount guard over your mind. You must take responsibility for the thoughts that run through your mind. Whatever is inconsistent with the outcome or expectation you want, refuse to think upon it. Be selective with your thoughts. Be intentional with your thoughts. Be excellent with your thoughts. This is what to do to ensure that you transform correctly; that you don’t conform to the world. You must watch your mind.
The mind is the interphase between the spiritual and the carnal, given that it determines one’s state of being per time. Romans 8:6 tells us “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” You will become rich by thinking rich thoughts. You will become spiritual by thinking spiritual thoughts. You will become carnal by thinking carnal thoughts. Your mind controls your state of being. God will keep you in perfect peace when you stay your mind on Him (Isaiah 26:3). Therefore, watch your mind diligently!
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that my mind is under the influence of the Holy Spirit and of the Word. I refuse to let the enemy hijack my mind. I only mind the Word. Amen.
