February 12: Christ in You, the Hope of Glory

Galatians 4:19

“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you.”

Colossians 1:27

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory

Colossians 1:27 tells us that Christ in us is the hope of glory, which is the mystery that was hidden from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints. God’s uttermost dream and desire is to build Himself in us, to reproduce Himself in us. He wants to show the whole world that He is one with us, and that we are one with Him; and through this oneness, reveal His glory through us in the fullness of it. This is the Father’s dream for you in Christ, which is Christ in you, the hope of realizing and demonstrating the glory of God. Our opening Scripture reveals the Spirit’s passion and travail through the Apostle Paul for the Church at Galatia. He had travailed in prayer once for their new birth in Christ, and he is travailing again, as in birth, until Christ be formed in them, which means until they come to maturity. The Spirit’s will is to have Christ formed in them, which is the hope of glory. In the same vein, Christ formed in you is the hope of glory.

In the forming of Christ in you, the Spirit builds God into you, He reproduces God in you by building the Word into you. The ministry of the Word is vital to the forming of Christ in you. When the Word is built into you, Christ is formed in you. The Spirit’s highest goal and noblest ministry is the building of the Word into your spirit, until you and the Word are utterly one in thoughts, words and deeds. The Word carries the character of the Word, and our destiny is to conform to the image of the Word, which is the flawless image of God. As you receive the revelation of the Word and act upon it, the Spirit builds Christ in you, and you are changed from glory to glory.

My Solid Front (Confession):

In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I am yielded to the Word, and I receive the ministry of the Word unto transfiguration, from glory to glory, in Jesus’ Name! Amen.
