We Have Boldness in Christ!

July 12: Activate Your Spirit

Joshua 1:8

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

1 Corinthians 14:14

“For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.”

1 Corinthians 14:14 “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.”
It is the Spirit that bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. The witness of the Spirit of God with our spirit is the primary way the Lord leads us. Therefore our spirit must be fitly positioned and take the right posture to receive the witness of the Spirit of God. Our spirit must be activated to receive guidance from God. When the spirit of a man is activated, it is easy to receive from God’s Spirit.

The inner witness of the Spirit with our spirit comes by the Holy Spirit; the spirit of man cannot know the things of God except by the Holy Spirit. This is why it is important we stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit; it’s our responsibility as believers to stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit. However, sensitivity is not possible without sensitization. Just as a right-handed person will have their right hand stronger than the left by reason of use, so is the man or woman who exercises his or her spirit will have a spirit that is stronger than the natural mind; and when your spirit dominates your mind, it is easy to flow with the Holy Spirit.

Praying in other tongues, meditating on the Word and acting upon the Word helps to sensitize or activate your spirit. Living this way gives your spirit the opportunity to exercise in the realm of the God-kind. We must learn to shut ourselves in and away from the distractions and noise of our world and be alone with the Lord in prayer, worship and meditation in the Word; knowing fully well that God will guide us through our spirit. Don’t go by how you feel; go by the promptings of God in your spirit. Don’t just get ready to hear from God, or be led by God; but stay and live ready. Get into the practice of charging up your spirit daily by praying in other tongues. Let your spirit soak in the Word through meditation that you may deal wisely in all the affairs of life. Let your spirit take a posture of readiness
and alacrity to hear from God. Activate your spirit daily. Matthew 4:4 tells us that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. We live by the Word; for the just shall live by faith. Live on the Word daily!

My Solid Front (Confession): In the Name of Jesus, I declare that by the help of the Spirit of God, I give time to praying in other tongues, and to meditating on the Word; therefore my spirit is sensitized, and is sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Further Meditation: Ephesians 5:18; Jude 1:20.
