“The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
The apostle Paul, by the Holy Spirit, made a profound statement in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 that when he is weak, then he is strong; for the strength of God is made perfect in his weakness. God is Almighty; He is not some mighty. He does not need our help to do what He does; He only needs our partnership. He only fights for us when we hold our peace. God and you cannot be working at the same time. You are only supposed to work out what He’s worked in you. You have to learn to be still to know that He is God. You have to learn to rest and trust in Him to reach your goal in life. God will only do in you as much as you allow Him. Let God be God in you. Let Him have His place in you. Let Him live big in you.
Our opening Scripture tells us of Moses’ charge or admonition given to the children of Israel at the verge of the Red Sea. The Egyptians were right behind pursuing hard after them, and the Red Sea was just in front of them. They were sandwiched in between two ugly situations. They did not know what to do. They were perplexed and confused. They could literally imagine their death and graves right before them. In the midst of all that the Lord spoke to Moses to tell them, “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace”. That sure didn’t look like the right moment to hold their peace, but God said to hold their peace. When God speaks to do something, the situation may not be right, but God’s Word makes all things right. It does not matter the storm and how long it’s been raging, when God speaks the storm ceases.
Beloved, God is saying to you to hold your peace, be still and see the salvation of the Lord, and He will fight for you. The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His Name. Brace up and keep your calm. Be still and know that He is God; hold your peace and He will fight for you! The Lord has never lost any battle; He always wins. Glory be to His holy Name! Hallelujah!
My Solid Front (Confession): In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am calm, cool and collected. My confidence is in God; He fights for me while I hold my peace. I know Him by His Name: The Man of War. Amen.
