May 13: Behave Yourself as God’s Child

Galatians 3:26

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus

1 Peter 2:9-10

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

The Word of God has been given to us to model our life. We are modelling after the Word; we are modelling after Jesus the Anointed One. He is our perfect example. Hebrews 12:2 tells us, “…. looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith.” Therefore, when we look in the mirror of the Word, we see ourselves in the light of Jesus Christ, the effulgence of the glory of God, the express image of His Person (Hebrews 1:3). 2 Corinthians 3:18 captures it for us: “We all with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord; we are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” In the mirror of the Word, we see the glory of God, and that is who we are. We are the reflection of that glory. When man sinned in the Garden, he fell from that glory; for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). We have been reinstated to that glory in Christ, and we are changed into the image of it, from glory to glory, by the Holy Spirit, only as we behold and keep beholding that glory.

Any child of God that is not behaving as one is not beholding the glory of God in the Word. He or she is not studying the Word to see the way to behave. The Church is the ground and the pillar of truth where we are taught the Word, that we may know how to behave ourselves. Our behaviour, our demeanour is mentored and modelled by the Word. We ought to look into the Word daily. James 1:25 tells us that whosoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, the Word of love given to the man in Christ, and continues in it, he not being a forgetful hearer, this man shall be blessed in his deed. The blessing of transformation belongs to the child of God who studies the Word and practices it. The Spirit is free to build it into his life unto transformation, from glory to glory. Give attention to the Word, and let it model your life. This is true Christianity. Anything else is falsehood. Hallelujah!!!

My Solid Front (Confession):

I am a member of God’s royal family; I carry myself with the mindedness of dignity and honour. God is my Father, and I relate with Him as a beloved child. I declare that I am transformed from glory to glory in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
