November 27: Give to the Cause of the Gospel

Philippians 4:15

Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

Luke 8:1-3

And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,

And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,

And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a global enterprise. It involves giving value to reap value. We give the Word of reconciliation, the Gospel of Christ, for the souls of men. We sow the seed of the Word of God to reap the souls of men. In between sowing the seed of the Gospel and reaping the souls of men, there is a broad process in the value chain. Laborers are required to sow the seed, media materials are needed, transportation from one place to another, welfare of the labourers, purchase of media air time, logistics cost, etc. In the ministry of the Word of God, money is needed. Therefore, God requires the generous giving of His children to the preaching of the Gospel. Obviously, this is God’s passion in the earth today; and when we give to God’s passion, He blesses us passionately. It is God’s will that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth

Money is directly involved in facilitating the Gospel of Christ. When Jesus preached the Gospel of the kingdom, He needed the resources of His generous partners. He had twelve disciples that were on His payroll. He had to travel from place to place to reach people with the Word of God. Money was involved. Luke 8:1-3 tells us that certain women, Mary of Magdalene, and Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, ministered unto Him of their substance. The apostle Paul commended the Church at Philippi for communicating with him in the preaching of the Gospel. Beloved, your passion for the Gospel is seen in your giving to it. You cannot claim to love the Lord and be passionate to see souls saved without giving to the Gospel. Where your money is, there will your soul be also, and vice versa. Beloved, develop the culture of giving to the Gospel of Christ. Let everything that moves God move you. Our prosperity lies in our cheerful, passionate and diligent giving to the Gospel. Give and keep giving to the cause of the Gospel, and you’ll abound in prosperity.

My Solid Front (Confession):

In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am an ardent, passionate, cheerful and diligent giver to the Gospel of Christ. I am an active partner with the Gospel of Christ. Hallelujah! Amen!
