November 9: Living From Inside Out

John 7:37-38

37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

The opening verse of today’s devotional speaks of the will of God for everyone who has believed in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. The Lord Jesus stands and cries, in the last day, that great day of the feast in Jerusalem, saying that everyone who thirsts should come to Him and drink. What kind of drink is He referring to here? Of course not natural wine, nor water. He is referring to the Holy Spirit. He speaks of the Spirit as rivers of living water flowing from our hearts to the world, which also reveals the principle that governs our life in Christ. Life for us is God living in us and expressing Himself through us. We are meant to live from inside out. The Christ-life in the believer is expressed from inside out

Life is meant to be expressed from inside out. Now what does it mean to live from inside out? It simply means to live your life from the revelation of God’s Word in your spirit, and from the outflow of the Spirit of God within you. The Lord Jesus showed that clearly in today’s opening Scripture. He said rivers of living water will flow out of the belly of the one who believes in Him. The belly speaks of the innermost being or the heart of man; and Jesus shows us that that’s where rivers of living water, that is the Holy Spirit, will flow from. Proverb 4:23 says keep your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. Matthew 12:35 tells us that a good man out of the good treasures of his heart brings forth good things. This means that the things that you can bring forth into your life are the things that are in your heart. This is why you must learn to be an inward person loading up yourself with good treasures from God’s Word. Be meditative and prayerful, and let your words align with what is happening on the inside of you. It does not matter what is happening around you, if you will engage the discipline of speaking in line with what you see on the inside, you will always get awesome results in your life because the internal
environment conditions and determines the external environment. God wants you to be an inward person, expressing life from the inside. He wants you to show the glory on the inside of you. How do you do that? Load your heart with the Word through meditation and get filled with
the Spirit praying and ministering to the Lord. Say things and act consistently with what you believe.

My Solid Front (Confession):

In the Name of Jesus I declare that I give diligent attention to feeding my heart with the Word of God, and I declare that I give
expression to God’s Word in my heart, and that I am a man of the Spirit. I live from inside out every day of my life. Amen
