January 4 – One New Man

Ephesians 2:15

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace.

2Corinthians 5:17-20

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

One new man is the Church, which is the joining of the Jew and the Gentile in Christ. The Law of Moses was given to the Jews and by it, there was a separation between the Jews and the Gentiles, in that the Jews were with the Law, but the Gentiles were without the Law. Therefore the Law was the wall of separation between the Jew and the Gentile; it was the enmity between the Jew and the Gentile. The Law of commandments contained in ordinances was abolished by the flesh of Jesus, which was the enmity between the Jew and the Gentile. When Jesus died on the cross, by the death of His flesh or body, He abolished the Law and broke the wall of separation to bring the Jew and the Gentile together in one New Man in Christ, which is the Church.

God’s intent is to have one family in Christ, comprising of every nation and every tongue of mankind. The Church is meant to be that one new man where every nation is born anew to serve God in newness of spirit, without any wall of partition between us. God is gathering everyone and everything in Christ. This is the reason why we preach the Gospel of Christ. The Word tells us that in Ephesians 1:10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of times, God might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth.  This is the mystery of the one new man in Christ unveiled to us in the fullness of times.

Beloved, this is God’s on-going project on earth today. Everyone who is involved in this project touches the heart of the Father. This is what the Spirit of God is doing today. Be involved! Get in cheerfully and actively.

My Solid Front (Confession): Father I thank You, for including me in Your plan and project on earth; thank You for including me as a vital part of this One New Man Project. I give myself to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Further Meditation: 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Matthew 28:18-20.
