January 7 – Receiving Grace through the Word

Acts 20:32

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified

Acts 20:24

“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”

The Gospel of Christ is the good news of His grace. In our opening Scripture, we are told that God’s Word is the Word of His grace, which means that the Word is loaded with grace, and when it is spoken, grace is released. You can always find grace in the spoken Word. Grace is dispensed as the Word is preached or taught. In Luke 5:17, we are told that Jesus was teaching on a certain day and many people from far and near gathered, and as He taught the Word, the power of God was present to heal. Healing grace was released as Jesus taught the Word of God.

This is how it works: Every word that God speaks is pregnant with grace to fulfill what it says or talks about. God’s Word of healing carries healing grace, God’s Word of prosperity carries prosperity grace, and God’s Word of salvation carries salvation grace. Therefore, reaching out for God’s Word and receiving it makes for grace in the recipient of it.

The easiest way to receive God’s Word is to hear and believe it. When you hear it, do not only hear it, but believe it outrightly. You cannot receive God’s Word that you don’t believe. As far as God is concerned, believing is receiving. John 1:11-12 tells us that Jesus came to the Jews but they didn’t receive Him, but as many as received Him He gave power to be the sons of God, even as many who believed on His Name. Beloved, believing the Word is receiving it, and receiving the Word is receiving grace. Grace is ministered to you as you receive the Word of God, because God’s Word is the Word of His grace. Amen! Meditate on the Word today and possess it as yours by faith, and grace will pour out for you in alarming measures.

My Solid Front (Confession): In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I am a lover of God’s Word and in it I meditate day and night. I am a doer of God’s Word and the grace of God is working for me in all things in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Further Meditation: Psalms 107:20; John 1:1-14.
