Resurrection Power Works By Faith

Romans 4:19

“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb.”

Hebrews 11:11

“Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.”

When Abraham produced Ishmael, he had physical strength to make it happen. But when Isaac was to be born, Abraham’s body had been practically dead. Verse 19 of Romans 4 reveals this fact. Sarah too was past menopause; her womb was already dead. So what happened? How was she able to bring forth Isaac? Hebrews 11:11 tells us the secret, it says “Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised”. Isaac came about as a result of the quickening (life-giving) power of God in Abraham’s and Sarah’s bodies. From the account of Abraham, we can see that God’s resurrection power is available for whosoever believes.

Abraham believed and he contacted that resurrection power. God revived his body, and Isaac was born to him. Abraham knew too well how Isaac came; that was why when God requested for Isaac in Genesis 22, he didn’t object to giving him up. He knew that even if he killed the boy, the God who produced him was able to raise him back to life by the same token that brought him forth.

Abraham believed in the God who quickens (gives life to) the dead, and who calls the things that be not as though they were. Even when it seemed hopeless, naturally speaking, he believed in God. This brought God’s resurrection power to bear in his case, and turned everything around in his favour. Beloved, there is no hopeless case with God. By the resurrection power, every hopelessness is turned into a miracle. Believe in the resurrection power today, irrespective of whatever natural experts have pronounced about your situation.

My Solid Front (Confession): In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I believe in the resurrection power of God. I believe in Jesus – the resurrection and the life, and every hopelessness is turned into a miracle. Amen.

Further Meditation: Acts 2:22-24; John 11:25.
