September 10: Abide in the Father’s love

1 John 1:6

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.”

John 15:9

“As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.”

John 15:9 “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.”

The Lord Jesus tells us in today’s opening Scripture that He loves us with the same love with which the Father has loved Him. Amazing, isn’t it. Jesus’ love for us is an extension of the Father’s love to and for Him, which means the Father loves us the same and as He loves Jesus Christ. This blows away the natural mind, but a spiritual mind can take it. John 17:23 tells us, “I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and has loved them as You have loved Me.” The Lord Jesus Christ tells us that the Father has loved us and does love us as He has loved Him. This call for an eternal rejoicing! Hallelujah! Nothing can be truer than that! That’s the truth just the way it is! Then the Lord Jesus says to abide in His love. What love? The love with which the Father has loved and does love Him. Why is it important to abide in Jesus’ love for us? That’s how to stay in vital fellowship with the Father and with Him. Love is the platform of communion or fellowship with God.

The Lord has given us a charge to continue in His love. To continue in His love is to abide or stay in His love, and the way that is done is by keeping His commandment. To keep His commandment is to keep His words. The Lord Jesus Christ in John 15:10 tells us “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” Again in verse 12 of John 15, the Lord Jesus tells us “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” Now to abide in His love, you must first believe in His love for you regardless of your circumstances; even when you make mistakes. Your faith in His love will make you abide in His love. But if you do not exercise faith in His love for you, you will go astray, and keep going astray from God. But the very moment you believe in His love, you come back on track to His love. Have you gone astray from God’s love by disobeying His Word? Repent, and come back to Him, knowing that He loves you and has made a provision for your shortcomings in Christ Jesus. Don’t draw back from God; but let His love draw you near unto Him. Abide in God’s love for you. Your next level is in that love.

My Solid Front (Confession): Heavenly Father, I believe in Your love for me; therefore I choose to stay within the confines of that love by keeping Your words. I thank You for giving me revelations and visions in line with Your plan for my life. Amen.
