Sword of the Spirit – The Word

Ephesians 6:17

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:17 that the Word of God is the sword of the Spirit. That means, it is the sword of the recreated human spirit. When you’re born again, God gives you His Word as an instrument of attack and defence. When you speak God’s Word from your Spirit, energized by the Holy Ghost, it becomes an instrument of attack against every fiery dart of the wicked. The Word of God is the sword of the spirit.

Jesus speaking in John 6:63 says “it is the Spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profit nothing”, He says “the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life”. The Word of God is spirit and life, so when you speak God’s Word from your heart; it becomes the sword of the Spirit against principalities and powers, against sicknesses and diseases, against ugly circumstances and situations, against lack and against everything that is of the devil. The Word of God becomes that instrument of attack in your mouth as you speak it in faith.

Beloved, learn to put the Word in your mouth as an instrument of attack against anything and everything that is contrary to God’s will for you. Learn to let Word loose through the lips of faith. The Word in your lips of faith is as powerful as the Word in Jesus’ lips when He cast out devils and healed the sick. Speak the Word boldly, and you’ll get awesome miracles by it. Let the Word flow out of you against every fiery weapon of the devil.

My Solid Front (Confession): In the Name of Jesus, I declare that the Word in my lips are potent and powerful against every fiery dart of the wicked; I project the sword of the spirit for victory over unpleasant circumstances in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
