“ And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
vs 19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
vs 20 And blessed be the Most High God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.”
“But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.”
Tithing is a principal covenant way to fellowship with the blessing. Tithing did not begin with the Law; it is a covenant response to the blessing. Melchizedek blessed Abram, he did not ask Abram to give him the tithe of all the spoils of war. But Abram knew what to do to respond correctly to the blessing that he had received. He knew he was to present the tithe to Melchizedek. So, when Melchizedek was done blessing Abram, he Abram gathered the tithes of all the spoils and gave it to him. This is the covenant way to respond to the blessing. Blessed people pay tithes; they show their love and gratitude to the God of covenant by paying their tithes. Tithing establishes you in the blessing and brings you into unspeakable dimensions of God’s favour for increase and unprecedented multiplication.
Beloved, learn to tithe regularly, and do it in faith. Why? You are blessed and you should walk in the light of that blessing. When you tithe, you respond to the blessing correctly and when you do so, you are walking in the light of it in a covenant way. When you discover the revelation of tithing, and begin to tithe, you will begin to increase supernaturally. Understand that you don’t tithe to be blessed, you tithe because you are blessed; you tithe out of that understanding that you are blessed. It is a way to respond to the blessing, it is the attitude of a blessed man. You don’t act otherwise, because you know who you are – you are blessed; and so you tithe in honour of God.
When you bring your tithe to God, you are actually giving a witness before heaven, earth and hell, that you are a blessed man. Tithing is a covenant way of presenting the testimony of your blessing; it is also an act of honour unto God. So, give your tithe rejoicing in the Lord. Be cheerful and faithful in tithing. Hallelujah!
My Solid Front (Confession): In Jesus’ Name, I declare that I am blessed because I am the seed of Abraham; my tithe is the testimony of my blessing; I am a consistent and cheerful tither; I tithe by revelation; I tithe with the right attitude; I respond correctly to the blessing. Amen.
