June 1: Walking with God

Hebrews 11:5

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found because God had translated him; for before his translation, he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

John 14:23

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him

It is such a beautiful thing and an awesome privilege to walk with God. Today’s opening Scripture speaks of Enoch, a man who walked with God. Genesis 5:24 tells us that he walked with God and was not, for God took him. Hebrews 11:5 tells us how he did it. It says by faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death, and was not found because God had translated him, for before his translation, he had this testimony that he pleased God. Faith is what it takes to walk with God. Verse 6 of Hebrews 11 tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please God; for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. So, faith pleases God. Evidently, unbelief displeases Him. He was displeased with Israel in the wilderness because of unbelief, for they did always err in their hearts, and did not know His ways. What then is faith? Hebrews 11:1 tells us it is the substance of things hoped, the evidence of things not seen. It is the Word in your heart, giving illumination and perception to walk by. It is walking by the Word. It is living by the Word, and not by the senses. Faith then is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

John 4:24 tells us that God is a Spirit; He made us in His image with the capacity to walk with Him, to fellowship with Him. Walking with a Spirit-God requires faith, the sense-ruled cannot walk with Him. Walking with God is living by the Word. When you receive the Word, you treasure it and make it your final authority. You live by what God says to you. Walking with God stands you out; it brings you to a place where your life is just an outright miracle. God rubs off on you and His glory is seen on your life. That was what happened to Enoch; he walked with God until he was raptured by the glory of God. He received God’s Word, and acted upon it a step at a time, and every step he took acting on the Word of God amounted to a step in his walk with God. He took one step upon another, continually, and was not found for God took him. Beloved, as you walk with God, He will transform your life and change you altogether, from glory to glory.

My Solid Front (Confession):

): In the Name of Jesus, I make bold to say that I am a child of God and I have the capacity to fellowship with and to walk with God. I declare that I walk with God by faith, delighting in His Word and acting accordingly, and my life is moved from glory to glory. Amen.
