The Power of Meditation in the Word

Joshua 1:8

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success..”

1 Timothy 4:15

“Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.”

The Bible tells us in Joshua 1:8, “this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth but thou shall meditate upon it day and night that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein…” The Word of God has been given to us as our daily food; for our daily sustenance. The Word of God is our daily bread and as we meditate upon God’s Word, our spirit is fed by the Word of God. The Word of God feeds your spirit and gives it strength daily.

In Matthew 4:4, the Bible tells us that “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God”. So when we meditate on God’s Word, we really are feeding upon it. The Word of God is spirit and life (John 6:63), and God made us spirit beings like Him (1 Thessalonians 5:23); so when we feed on the Word of God, we really are feeding on the Spirit Word – the Spirit life and Spirit energy of God is induced into us; and we can do the impossible by the miracle working energy of the Word.

To meditate on God’s Word is to chew on it by confessing it and thinking upon it until it becomes your inner awareness and inclination. And as you think upon the Word in meditation, it gives you a fresh perspective; it upgrades your mind to a new plane of reasoning. That’s the power of meditation in the Word.

My Solid Front (Confession): In the Name of Jesus, I declare that the Word of God is my meditation, and I flourish in all that I do, bringing to bear on the natural supernatural successes in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Further Meditation: Psalms 19:14; Psalms 119:99.
