“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”
“The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.”
The Word of God is your inheritance. In our opening Scripture, the Spirit through Paul commended the brethren to God and to the Word of His grace, which was able to build them up, and to give them an inheritance among the sanctified. God’s Word is our inheritance. Not only is God’s Word our inheritance, God’s Word defines our inheritance. In other words, it’s a survey line that is cast upon our inheritance to tell our portion of it.
The Bible tells us in Psalms 16:6 that “the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, I have a goodly heritage” but in verse 5 it says “the Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup, He maintains my lot.” He maintains your lot. Your lot belongs to God and God is your lot. That’s amazing, isn’t it? God has decided that your inheritance will be by His Word, not by physical circumstances. May be your earthly father didn’t leave you with an inheritance; no landed property, no house, no education, etc. Your Heavenly Father has left you with more than enough to inherit and so you have an inheritance in God, and it has been prepared for you ever before the world began.
You can take your place in God’s Word today because an inheritance has been mapped out for you and it is all yours in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Beloved, find out what belongs to you in Christ and possess them all. Refuse to settle for anything less than what Jesus paid for on Calvary Cross.
My Solid Front (Confession): In the Name of Jesus, I declare that my eyes of understanding are open to behold wonderful things in Christ Jesus; I see my inheritance and I walk in the light of it. Amen.
