January 3 – You Are the Apple of God’s Eye

Zechariah 2:8

For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

Deuteronomy 32:10

“He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.”

God is mindful of you! This is good news to you, right? Of course, it is! The Word tells us in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast our cares upon God because He cares for us. That God cares for us simply means He is mindful of us; He has chosen us as the apple of His eye; His mind is full of us. Beloved, God is mindful of you and delights in you; His delight is in you. Our opening Scripture tells us that he who touches you touches the apple of God’s eye. This means that you are God’s favorite; you are His beloved, and He loves you with an everlasting love. You are precious to God and He has inscribed you upon the palms of His hands, and your walls are continually before Him.

God’s thoughts towards you are of peace and not of evil. He delights in your prosperity. He delights in you fulfilling His good plans and purposes for you. He delights in giving you the best of the best in every sphere of life. That’s His plan for you; that’s His purpose for you. God wants you to live and enjoy the good life, all because He loves you and you are precious to Him.

Beloved, embrace His love for you and live life in the light of it. Don’t let the devil sell you cheap lies that God doesn’t love you and that He is indifferent about your wellbeing. God desires above all things that you prosper and be in health in every sphere of life. You are the apple of God’s eye and He delights in you to prosper, help, strengthen, lift and guide you. Let the love that God has for you overwhelm you so much so that your confidence in prayer is enhanced to receive answers from Him when you pray.

My Solid Front (Confession): Father I thank You, for the love with which You have loved me; it is an everlasting love. I carry myself in the light of this love daily in Jesus’ Name. I declare in the Name of Jesus, that I am the apple of God’s eye and I am highly favoured of God. Amen.

Further Meditation: 1 Peter 5:5-7; Jeremiah 31:1-3.
