Every born-again child of God has received the measure of faith from the Lord. The Word tells us that faith comes by hearing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. So, when you heard the Gospel at salvation, faith came to you by the same Gospel. The Gospel of Christ is also known as the Word of faith (Romans 10: 8-9). So, when you received the Gospel, you received the Word of faith. It was God’s kind of faith that came to you at salvation. When you believed the Gospel, you received the Word faith into your spirit; you received God’s kind of faith. So, every believer possesses faith, which means that God has dealt to every man in Christ the measure of the God-kind of faith. That measure of faith is in seed form; it can grow and develop. However, faith is like muscles; if you don’t use it, it will not be exercised, and it will therefore become flabby and underdeveloped. If you want to be muscular, you must exercise your muscles. In the same vein, if you want your faith to grow, the measure of faith of the God-kind which you received at salvation, you will have to exercise it. Someone might say, “I wish I had big faith; if I had big faith, I would do great things for the Lord.” You don’t need to wish for faith as a believer – it is needless; for you already have faith. You only need to know how to use and grow it.
Understand that faith is stimulated when you hear God’s Word, and it is released for performance when you act on the Word. God honours faith when it is released towards Him. The faith that you keep to yourself, saying nothing, doing nothing, God doesn’t honour. Acts 14:7-10 reveals the account of the crippled man at Lystra. The man heard Paul speak, who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, “stand upright on your feet;” and he leaped and walked. The man had faith to be healed but was still lame until Paul encouraged him to act out his faith. Can you imagine how frustrating it could be for someone to have faith for something but does not know how to release his faith to realise his desires? That you have faith to be healed will not heal you, you must release that faith to experience healing. Beloved, release your faith by acting on the Word. Do what the Word says, and you will be blessed for it. Act like the Word is true because it is true. Put the Word to work. Put action to the Word.
SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I have received the measure of faith; therefore, I declare that my faith is working and that I am a doer of the Word. My faith produces the desired results for which it was meant in Jesus’ Name!
