God has given us so much in and through His Son Jesus Christ. We are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. We have no lack or want in Christ Jesus, but we need to know how to receive all that God has provided for us in Christ. Salvation, health, prosperity and countless blessings belong to us in Christ and are available for the taking. There are things that God has already given to us. What we are left with is learning to receive the things that are rightfully ours in Him. How then do you receive from the Lord? Receiving is done by faith. Mark 11:24 says, “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” It is faith that receives from God; it takes faith to receive from the Lord. If you pray and continue praying, but you don’t believe in the place of prayer that you actually received the thing that you desired and have asked God in prayer, you will not have it. James 1:5-8 shows how to receive from God. Verse 7-8 says “For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord; for a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” Mark the word “receive.” It is faith that receives; it is not praying that receives. What prayer does is to provide you with an opportunity to engage your faith in receiving from the Lord. So, if you don’t believe it, you have not yet received it; so, you don’t have it. You may be involved in trying to believe or engaging yourself in some spiritual activities, but if there is no resolution in your heart that you have received by faith, you don’t have that thing yet. We receive by faith!
Romans 4:17 tells us that Abraham believed God, even God who quickens the dead and calls forth the things that be not as though they were. Verse 18 says “Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken: So, shall thy seed be.” Abraham believed that He might become (the father of many nations) because believing as far as God is concerned, is receiving. However, sometimes people are expecting certain things to happen to them that they have not yet believed that they have received. That kind of hope or expectation lacks substance, so it is unfounded and will not come to pass. God’s order and principle cannot change. God is only going to perform what you believe according to the Word. Beloved, with God, believing is receiving!!!
