Prophets under the New Testament are primarily preachers and seers; they are anointed by the Holy Spirit to declare, proclaim and announce the Word of God under a strong preaching anointing. They are also gifted with revelational gifts in their office, such that they can see into the realm of the Spirit enabled by word of knowledge, word of wisdom, and discerning of spirits in order that they might bring the Word to people. But we are not meant to go look for prophets and seek guidance from them. If you seek guidance from a prophet, the Lord will permit you to be misguided because it is contrary to His will. There are two things that God does, He causes some things to happen, and then He permits some things to happen, also. Beloved, God does not take responsibility for your choices, you do. So, having known the will of God regarding divine guidance in the New Testament, if you then go and bow down to a prophet somewhere, to see into the spiritual realm for you, whatever comes out of that will be a consequence of your own choice. God will not be responsible for that.
How then can you be led by the Spirit? He leads you by His Spirit through your recreated human spirit. At salvation, when you got born again, you became a new creature entirely. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Your spirit became new and alive to God and when you got filled with the Holy Spirit, your spirit received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Now the Spirit lives in you, and through prayer and meditation in the Word of God, you can then begin to download from that realm of the Spirit, God’s perfect will for you. The things of God that are not visibly manifest to the physical eyes can be seen through the eyes of the Spirit. Through the inner witness, God’s Spirit transmits divine instructions into our recreated human spirit, for our renewed minds to receive and empower our bodies to act accordingly. Therefore, when you are led by the Spirit, you cannot miss God, neither can you miss the way in life. The Spirit of God is the revealer of the thoughts and intents of the heart of God concerning us. Therefore, to go deep in God, it has to be by the Spirit. To discover deep things in God and His plans for your life, it has to be by the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:9-10).
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
Father, I thank You that the Spirit bears witness within me that I am Your child, and by the same witness, I am led and instructed in the way that I must go in life in Jesus’ Name! Amen!
