Our opening verse tells us that at creation, in the beginning, physical things were not made from physical raw materials. It says through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God. The Word shaped and made everything. John 1:1-3 tells us that the Word made everything, and without it nothing was made. The Word is the parent material for creation. Therefore, the unseen Word, the spiritual Word, the spoken Word, made the seen world. Faith’s conviction is that the unseen creates the seen. It is through faith that we believe that the things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. The Word is spiritual, unseen, yet creates the seen. Why then should the seen stop us from believing the unseen? Why should the physical, the senses, stop us from believing the Word of God? Doesn’t it then make sense that the Word can be accepted or believed independent of sensual feelings or sight? Faith accepts the realities of the Word independent of circumstances, or physical evidence.
When we learn to believe God just for what He says, and take Him at His Word, without looking for physical evidence to validate God’s credibility or integrity, our faith has arrived at its destination; for such faith is pure and cannot be staggered by anything in the world. Such faith is potent and effective; it gets and produces results always. Such faith never fails. That our faith ought to be based absolutely on the Word independent of physical evidence does not mean that we do not believe in faith producing physical results, but what we are saying is that faith is not based on physical evidence; it is based on the Word and the Word alone. The results that faith produces are not its sure foundation; they are only proof in the physical that the unseen exists. Faith leans on the Word, not on sense evidence. Faith draws its validity and reality from the Word of God. Beloved, you can believe God independent of circumstances, and your faith will soar on the wings of the Word into realms of all possibilities. Yes, with God all things are possible: and yes too, to the believer all things are possible! (Mark 10:27; 9:23) When we believe God purely based on His Word, we get results that only His Word can produce. The believer ties up with omnipotence on the ground of faith in the Word of God. Hallelujah!!!
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that my faith is based on the Word of God alone. Nothing staggers me, nothing moves me, for my faith rests firmly and solidly on the Word, and on the Word alone. Hallelujah!!! Amen!
John 20:26-29; John 14:9-10.
