11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
We have faith in God only because He is faithful. We cannot truly trust and believe in an unfaithful person; his words are unreliable, and his bond is worthless. Faithfulness alone forms the foundation of faith. God’s Word is credible because He is faithful and powerful to perform everything that He promises. If God was faithless or unfaithful and never came through on His promises, faith would be impossible. That is true in life. We don’t trust people who never do what they say or promise. Trust comes naturally when we are dealing with faithfully able people. How faithful is God? The Scripture tells us that God always does what He says He is going to do (Psalms 89:34). Even from personal experience, we have all had times when God has come through in our lives.
The opening verse tells us that Sarah received strength to conceive seed through faith and she delivered a child when she was past menopause, because she judged God faithful who had promised. Sarah counted God faithful on account of His promise to her; her faith hinged on God’s faithfulness. What other ways are we to believe God if not by counting Him faithful to perform what He has promised because we know that He is faithful? Listen, you cannot believe God beyond your knowledge of how faithful He is. God is essentially faithful, and His Word can be absolutely relied upon. Counting or judging God faithful is easy because you are not trying to ascribe faithfulness to Him that He doesn’t have or that He is not. God is faithful, so judging Him faithful is easy, worthy, and a proper thing to do. It is befitting of God to judge Him faithful because He is faithful. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever: He is the living Word, and He never changes. We can rely on Him absolutely. Hallelujah! Get up from self-pity and exercise faith in God, counting and judging Him faithful in your case because you know He is faithful and just, and that He will not deny Himself. God will not break His covenant, nor alter the thing that is gone out of His lips.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION)
In the Name of Jesus Christ, I judge God faithful in every situation of life. I am convinced and fully persuaded that God and his Word are one; therefore, I hold unto the Word of God tenaciously in faith because I know that He is forever faithful to fulfill His Word in my life. Hallelujah! Amen.
