One of the things you must learn to do, for you to succeed in life is writing down your ideas. Ideas, great ideas, breakthrough ideas, come as rain from heaven. They come seasonally, inspirationally, and unconventionally. You must capture them in writing. Whatever is written down is written. The dullest pen is sharper than the brightest memory, many a times. When you recognize an opportunity, don’t just say, “I have seen it; I know it now.” Write it down; document the vital contents and details of it. Information like: What? Why? How? Where? When? Who? To what extent? Listen, there were things you once saw and understood that you are no longer seeing. What changed? Memory. Events overtook your memory and you lost touch with the stream of thoughts that came to you when those ideas first came. That’s why it is important to write down your ideas. There is something about writing things down that helps to keep your memory in tune with your ideas and experiences. When you write down your thoughts, dreams, ideas, and opportunities, you can always consult with them again and again, and that becomes a platform of meditation and creativity for you. What is written down is a rich bank of seeds for the future; it is a nursery. Yesterday’s ideas can become steppingstones into tomorrow’s breakthrough innovations. All that David had for meditation was the Torah – the first five books of the Bible, and that became the basis of inspiration for writing the book of Psalms. Amazing, isn’t it? Now, imagine how relevant the book of Psalms is to us today!
One of the reasons people’s imagination is very shallow is because they spend too much time watching the television; they hardly read. There’s something about reading; while reading a book, you can pause and think and begin to engage your cognitive resources in reasoning and imagination, and by so doing you’re exercising your ability to think through issues and to imagine opportunities and possibilities. This is not so with watching television. Watching TV all the time makes you mentally lazy because while watching, your reasoning faculty goes on leave, because they do the reasoning for you, so your imagination is only spoon fed; thereby causing your cognitive resources to become underdeveloped. So, go ahead and write down your vision, your revelation, and the opportunities that God has given you. God’s grace abounds unto you in Jesus’ Name! You are blessed!
My Solid Front (Confession):
I take responsibility to chronicle God’s dealings in my life and the ideas He gives me. Therefore, I do not lose the thoughts I receive but I nurture them diligently as they yield awesome results according to God’s plan and purpose for me in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
