The Word is the mother of faith. Faith comes by the Word. When the Word is preached, then it can be heard, and when it is heard, then it can be believed. Truly, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. It is strange to believe what you have not heard preached to you. I cannot believe God beyond my knowledge of God, beyond my knowledge of His will, or outside of my knowledge of His love and provision for me. Therefore, it makes sense to believe God when I know His will and love-plan for me. Faith begins where the will of God is known. Much of what people believe of God, of themselves, and of life, is traceable to what they once heard, time and again, about God, about themselves and about life, respectively. The problem of believing is solved when the Word is preached; and believing is determined by hearing. If you don’t like what you believe, then change what you are hearing. This is the point: Preaching determines hearing, and hearing determines believing, and believing determines the outcome of your life. You will never speak outside of your believing, you will never act outside of your believing, either.
Romans 10:13-15 tells us that whosoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved. How shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? The preaching of the Word is important for the hearing of faith, which determines right believing, and that in turn determines right action, which then results in salvation – healing, success, transformation, prosperity, victory, and everything that pertains to salvation. So then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. What do you find quite difficult to believe of God’s Word? That you are blessed, or that you are healed, or that you are prosperous, or that God has prepared you a great future? Get God’s Word along the line where your faith struggles. Do not try or struggle to believe God for anything. Just hear the Word of God enough in that area of challenge, and your faith will surge with great strength to believe God for that thing. Hearing makes for believing, believing makes for action, and action determines life’s outcomes. Hallelujah!
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare that I am believer, and not a doubter. I give attention to the Word in areas where my faith struggles. I feed my faith fat and strong in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
