God wants us to know His will, and not only that, He also wants us to know His perfect will for us. You may ask, “Isn’t the will of God perfect?”. Yes, it is! But in knowing the will of God, we may know it perfectly or imperfectly. So, the Word of God charges us to prove the good, acceptable and perfect will of God. What then determines our knowing the perfect will of God? Our opening verse reveals the answer to that question. It tells us not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind, in order that we may prove the perfect will of God. It is only the renewed mind that can prove the perfect will of God. We may say that the will of God is known to the degree that the mind is renewed. We cannot know the will of God beyond the renewing of our mind. You must renew your mind by the Word of God that you may prove the perfect will of God. You renew your mind by changing the way you think about things, until every thought agrees with what the Bible says about it.
To renew your mind, you must systematically study the Bible to find out what it says about the matters of life. It is advisable to form what you learn from the Word into a statement of confession that helps you remember the biblical position, and also reinforces a conviction about it in your inner consciousness. Since your mind works like a computer, whatever is in your memory will stay there until it is deleted and replaced with new information. Owing to this fact, it is not enough to learn Bible Scriptures, you must pull down every and any thought that does not agree with the Bible. When we are born into the Kingdom of God, we are born into the royal family with all the rights of the royal family already there. Yet still, we do not exercise our rights to dominion in every possible area because of our limited knowledge and understanding of those rights. As we learn our rights and responsibilities as the children of God by having our minds renewed to line up with Word of God, we will begin to live like Jesus, the Firstborn of God’s family in every sphere of life.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I am a doer of the Word. I think the Word; I talk the Word and I do the Word. I declare and decree that my thoughts line up with the Word of God in everything in Jesus’ Name!
