6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
Doubt is an enemy of faith. Faith can exist in the midst of fear and overpower it when faith is the preferred choice over fear, and it is a celebrated option. In fact, faith dispels fear or doubt. Faith and fear are incompatible. When you choose to believe the Word, faith comes into play and fear and doubt are dissipated. Today’s opening Scripture reveals that fear is a choice as much as faith is a choice. David says, the Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? David said, I will not fear. It was his choice not to fear. He made up his mind not to be afraid; he chose to believe that God was on his side. David’s state of not being afraid was not a circumstantial thing; it was a result of his decision to believe God. In the same vein, your state of fear or faith is a product of your decision. Never say, I wish I had faith. No! Rather, choose to believe God. Choose to believe God’s Word. Choose to judge God faithful in your case. God is on your side; He is for you, not against you. Your fear is unjustifiable; it is needless. Refuse to be afraid of what man can do to you.
Fear is always a result of wrong perception of reality. People get afraid or become fearful when they see things wrongly. They see how the situation is going to work against them and how they are not going to have the right outcome. They see themselves going down the drain with no possibility of ever coming out. Why? They have turned away from God’s perspective of their situations and of their lives. There is a way that seems right but is not right; and there is a way that is right. There is the right way of seeing things. God wants us to see things His own way that we may respond to life like He does. The Word of God is God’s perspective of things. When you learn the Word and believe it, you will see things like God sees them and fear will be banished from your life permanently. Listen, be encouraged and be certain that the situation will not swallow you up. God is on your side and He will hold you up above that situation. Trust Him. Believe God’s Word and doubt your doubt.
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I am bold and confident in God’s Word; therefore, I am not afraid. God is on my side! I choose to believe God’s report concerning me in all things. Fear is banished from me forever! Amen.
