(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
We are told in the opening Scripture that Abraham believed God, even God who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that do not exist as though they did. That’s the attitude of faith. When faith is speaking, natural men cannot understand. It takes a spiritual man to understand the language of faith. Abraham had no child, and God said to him, I have made you a father of many nations. That’s difficult for the natural man to understand and believe. God didn’t say, I will make you a father of many nations, but I have made you a father of many nations. It’s easier to believe that you will have a thing that you so desire before it manifests Thanksgiving to believe that you already have it before it manifests. Isn’t it? But faith can believe that it has a thing already before it materializes. Faith, therefore, is the language of God and of those who are spiritually minded. When God speaks, it is important to not only understand what He says but also how He says it. How God speaks is as important as what He speaks. Faith is God’s way of speaking and acting; it is God’s attitude of communication with man.
When God said to Abraham, I have made you a father of many nations, he believed God contrary to common or carnal sense. Now, God does not dwell in time; He dwells in eternity. So, when He speaks, He speaks from the realm of done deals. To be on the same page with God, Abraham had to leave the now and temporal, and travel in His mind to eternity to see himself as a father of many nations according to God’s Word. Abraham believed God, and you too can believe God. You too can call the things that do not exist as though they did. God told Abraham to look up in the sky and tell the number of the stars, and He said to him, “so shall your seed be,” and he believed God. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” Every child of God, believer in Christ, walks by faith and not by sensory perception. You are the seed of Abraham, and so you can believe the Word of God beyond and against the evidence of your natural senses. You can look at your life, irrespective of the fact that you don’t have things that make for what people call prosperity all around and call yourself blessed from the reality of what you have in Christ Jesus, and that Word will leap into being for you. The Word will create those things and magnetize them to you. That’s the attitude of faith. Go ahead and speak like God.
My Solid Front (Confession):
In the Name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I am blessed. I am the head and not the tail. I am a lender, and not a borrower. I walk in the high places of life; I do not belong in the low places of this life. Abundant prosperity is my experience always. Amen!
