There are numerous promises in the Word of God regarding divine guidance, which shows that God is willing to guide us. However, we must understand how God leads or guides. How does God guide us? All of God’s guidance is always in harmony with the Word, not apart from it. The Word of God is the will of God, and God always guides us in line with His will for us. So, the guidance of the Spirit is always in harmony with the Word. The Holy Spirit always uses the Word to guide us. Therefore, our mind must be renewed to the Word of God in order that we may receive God’s guidance in our lives. When your mind is unrenewed and carnal, the guidance of the Spirit will not make sense to you. The Word tells us in Romans 12:2: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God”. Until your mind is renewed, you cannot prove the good, acceptable and perfect will of God. You renew your mind by meditating in the Word and acting upon it.
Beloved, expect to be guided because you are God’s sheep. God loves it when you show great willingness to be guided; He guides the willing. Be meek and let God guide you. Be not wise in your own eyes; for there is more hope for a fool than for he who is wise in his own eyes (Proverbs 26:12). Submit to the lordship of the Word to be correctly guided by the Lord. Say to yourself, the Word has the final say or final authority in my life. Be willing to follow whatever the guidance of the Spirit says to you. Do not have a preconceived idea or notion of God’s guidance or instruction. Let the Spirit of God guide you indeed. Allow God to speak to you the way He chooses. He may speak to you by an audible voice, or by dreams, or by visions. Just let God be God in your life. In conclusion, listen to the voice of God to you through anointed teachers of the Word sent by God to you. God speaks through anointed vessels to His own people.
