Our opening Scripture speaks of Jesus Christ as the light of the world. It further reveals that Jesus is the light of the world and anyone who follows Him shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life. What then is the light of life? In John 1:4 the Scripture tells us that in the Word is life, and the life is the light of men. This speaks of the light of life which is in the Word. So, the light of life is the light of the Word – the light of the Word of life. When we see by the Word of God, we see by the light of life. Jesus Himself is the Living Word; so, He tells us that anyone that follows Him shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life. As God’s children, we were born of God’s Word and so we live by the Word. Again, the light of life is the light of the Word of God, it is the light of the new man in Christ; it is the light of the new life that we have received in Christ. In Christ, we see by a different kind of light. We see by the light of life. We play by a different set of rules; we play by the Word of God.
Ephesians 5:8 says we are children of light and as such, we are charged to walk in the light. This is our kind of light; it is not the light of carnality or sensuality but the light of the Word of God. We do not see life through our senses. We see by the Word; we understand by the Word; we know by the Word. We have our own way of estimation, education, reasoning, and understanding, unique to us. That’s the kind of life we have in Christ. This is not western light; it is the light of life; the light of the Word of God. So, we have our own language, we have our parlance, our own way of expressing ourselves; our way of saying things, our discourse, our unique way of conversing with God and one another, and with life. So, we don’t speak as they do out there in the world. Our communication is different, our way of speaking is different. We speak the blessing, prosperity, advancement, increase, faith, not fear. Our speech is seasoned, as we give expression to this light of life in us. Beloved, shine the light of the Word everywhere you go! Hallelujah!
MY SOLID FRONT (YOUR CONFESSION):
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I see by the light of the Word. I refuse to be governed by my five physical senses. I am ruled by the Word. I have been justified by faith and I live by the Word. Amen!
